Meet Our Team

Joanne D. Verdiner, LPC

CEO/Owner

With over a decade of experience in the mental health field, I have had the privilege of working with both youth and adults across various sectors of mental health and community development. Through my journey, I’ve come to deeply understand the importance of addressing mental, physical, and spiritual health in a holistic manner. Having worked with numerous mental health agencies, I have recognized the need to create a practice where people feel truly welcomed, respected, and supported, no matter their background or socioeconomic status. This vision led to the creation of Healing & Wellness Counseling Services — a space where every client’s unique journey is honored from the moment they walk through our doors.

At Healing & Wellness, we believe in meeting you where you are. Whether you prefer the traditional one-on-one therapeutic environment, a relaxed dinner-table setting, a peaceful bench outside, or even a gentle stroll in nature, we are here to support you in a way that feels most comfortable and healing for you. We strive to ensure that each visit is a calming experience, offering light refreshments and a thoughtfully designed space tailored with our clients in mind. My commitment is to ensure that you feel heard, respected, and supported as you take your steps towards healing and wellness.

Latina Brame, LMSW

Clinician

I am a Master’s Level Social Worker with several years of experience providing evidence-based and person-centered care within Fairfield County, CT, since 2013. Throughout my clinical career, I have had the privilege of offering case management, community advocacy, and intensive in-home clinical support for children at risk of out-of-home placement, families in the foster care system, and adults in residential settings.

I am deeply committed to my clients' well-being and take pride in being regarded as a dedicated and authentic clinician. My approach is grounded in empathy, offering a safe space where individuals feel heard and supported. I bring a strong clinical perspective to my work, always striving to understand the unique needs of each person and collaborate with them on their journey toward healing.

Whether navigating challenging circumstances or seeking personal growth, my goal is to provide compassionate, individualized support to empower clients in achieving their best possible outcomes.

In my spare time, you can find me spending time with family, practicing yoga, and hosting a podcast. I love to go hiking and taking care of my plants.

Keelin Claire Nothwang, LPC-A

Clinician

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with a Master’s degree in School Counseling and a focus in Clinical Mental Health. I was honored to receive Sacred Heart University’s Gold Medal of Excellence (Class of 2025), and I’m currently pursuing advanced training in Play Therapy (RPT track).

My approach is holistic and rooted in evidence-based practices, blending CBT, Person-Centered, Reality, and Gestalt therapies with solution-focused, mindfulness-based, and experiential techniques. I work with children, teens, young adults, parents, and caregivers, supporting those navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, or complex trauma.

With experience as a school counselor, I help children strengthen emotional regulation, executive functioning, confidence, and tools for managing school and social stress. I’m committed to culturally sensitive, inclusive care and meeting each client with respect and curiosity.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process—and that play and creativity can be healing at any age. My aim is to offer a warm, safe space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow.
